When Gianna became pregnant with her fourth child in 1961, doctors discovered a tumor in her uterus. She was given three choices: an abortion, a complete hysterectomy, or the removal of the tumor. For her child, Gianna opted to remove only the tumor.  On April 21, 1962, Gianna Emanuela Molla was delivered by Caesarean section. The doctors tried to ensure both lives would be saved, but a week after the baby was born, Gianna passed away from an infection. Gianna Emanuela went on to become a physician herself. Gianna Beretta Molla was beatified in 1994 and canonized 10 years later. Her liturgical feast is celebrated on April 28.

Our next live stream will be on Sunday, April 14th, at 9:00 a.m. (PDT). You are warmly encouraged to consider attending Mass in person, whether in Colville or wherever your home parish is. It's safe, and your parish family would be overjoyed to see you!
