Religious Education

Kindergarten - 8th Grade

The Religious Ed program, here at Immaculate Conception Parish, serves our children ranging

from grades K-8, as well as providing Sacramental Prep to eligible students. It is the goal and

mission of our program to focus on catechesis in the Catholic Faith formation.  Not only do our

Catechists strive to establish roots for our children in the faith, they reinforce that the Sacraments

are at the heart of the Church, and constitute the very life of Her. Our Program ensures the

children can know and live the basics, while implementing the use of the prayers, and ensuring a

comfortable environment at home with our rich liturgical and devotional life. Our curriculum is

doctrinally sound, and assists the parents in the religious, moral and spiritual formation. It is our

belief, parents are the primary educators, by teaching through word and example. Our parish

catechists, and helpers, support both the parents and students by providing a high quality,

religious education foundation, in a nurturing, faith-filled environment.

The duration of classes consists of most every Sunday, beginning at 9am and running until

9:45am. Our Catechists are all volunteer helpers, who commit to nurturing their own education

in the faith, while offering their time and talent each weekend for the children.

Summertime Vacation Bible School has become a recent addition to our program, drawing

children from various backgrounds, and from all around the community. From Virtues, to

Saints, to Prayers, etc. the children continue to grow their learning, through a fun, filled,

environment, with various games and activities.

Through the cooperative efforts of parents, catechists, and students, we pray our children will

grow in their love for God and knowledge of their Catholic faith. Through our efforts, we hope

our children will develop their God-given gifts and talents, and live as contributing, respectable

citizens, through their commitment as lifelong Catholic Christians.
